Many people who visit Filoli in the Winter do so for the Holiday Lights. I love the lights. I hate the lights. You can’t not love the lights, but they make it very hard to compose compelling images of the Winter gardens. There is a separate gallery for the Holiday Lights and these images in this gallery are a sample of my Winters at Filoli capturing the wonderful open airiness of the garden rooms that the lack of foliage creates. About this project: 4 Years At Filoli
This project began when my wife and I were looking for a pandemic-friendly afternoon outdoors and we visited Filoli in Woodside, CA. This was February 2021. Spring had just begun to coax the blossoms and blooms along and it occurred to me that it might be fun to revisit the gardens every week and record the changes. As a member I could get in an hour early on Saturdays. So, a project was born. Four years and 2,090 published images later it was time to wrap this project up. These Filoli galleries are a few of the images from my time at Filoli.
